Supper Saving is a recipe site for families who want dinner to be easy, filling and affordable. We focus on cozy crockpot meals, one pan dinners and simple pantry cooking, and every recipe shows what it costs to make, both for the whole dish and per serving.
Why we started
Grocery prices keep climbing, and most recipe sites never tell you what a dinner will actually cost. We wanted a place where you can plan a week of meals around a real budget, using ingredients you can find at any supermarket.
What you will find here
- Budget dinners that feed a family, most under $2 per serving
- Crockpot and slow cooker recipes you can start in about 10 minutes
- One pan and sheet pan meals with less washing up
- Grocery saving tips and simple meal plans
How we price recipes
We estimate each ingredient using average US grocery store prices for the amount the recipe uses, not the cost of the whole package. Pantry staples such as salt, spices and oil are counted at their small share. Your total will vary by store, brand, region and sales, so treat our numbers as a helpful guide rather than an exact receipt.
How we write recipes
Our recipes follow standard home cooking methods and are checked against USDA safe minimum internal temperatures for meat, poultry and leftovers. We use tools, including AI, to help draft and organize content, and every recipe is reviewed for ingredient amounts, cooking times and food safety before it is published.
About our photos
Many recipe images on Supper Saving are AI generated illustrations of the finished dish. Posts that use one say so directly under the image. We are working toward photographing more of our recipes over time.
